Sichuan University of media and communications, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is a full-time undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education. It is the postgraduate training base of Sichuan Normal University. It has won the titles of national advanced independent college, national excellent college and national education and teaching management model university.The predecessor of the college is the radio, film and Television College of Chengdu Institute of technology, which was established in 1997. In 2001, it was renamed as school of radio, film and television of Chengdu University of technology. In 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of education, it was transferred to Sichuan Media University.As of January 2016, the college covers an area of more than 2000 mu, with an area of nearly 600000 square meters. It has nearly 100 laboratories, internships and training rooms, with a total value of 190 million yuan of teaching equipment. It has set up 13 teaching departments (departments), 51 undergraduate majors and 39 specialist majors. It has more than 1000 teachers and more than 20000 students.
