Anhui University of Chinese medicine, located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, has been selected as the basic capacity (phase II) construction project of colleges and universities in central and Western China. It is a university supported by the higher education revitalization plan of Anhui Province "construction of high-level universities with local characteristics" and the peak discipline construction plan of Anhui Province.Anhui University of traditional Chinese medicine was founded in 1959. Its predecessor was the advanced course of traditional Chinese medicine in Anhui Province founded in 1952. In 1959, Anhui provincial government officially approved the establishment of Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine. In 1970, Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine was incorporated into Anhui Medical College. In 1975, the Ministry of Education approved the restoration of Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2000, Anhui Medical School was incorporated into Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2011, the provincial government approved the establishment of Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine on the basis of Anhui College of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2013, the Ministry of Education approved Anhui University of traditional Chinese medicine to be renamed Anhui University of traditional Chinese medicine.As of November 2019, the University covers a total area of 1269.68 mu, with four campuses of shaoquanhu, Meishan Road, Shihe road and Lu'an road; the library has a collection of 2.0155 million books; there are 24 undergraduate majors, including 3 first-class doctoral degree awarding points, 5 first-class master degree awarding points, 26 second-class master degree awarding points, and 4 master degree awarding points, with full-time schooling There are 16091 students (including 1503 doctors and Masters), 17 secondary departments (including 3 directly affiliated hospitals), 5 non directly affiliated hospitals, and 4400 teaching staff.
